My father died at the end of May, 2020. My Mom always encouraged my imagination, but my father was the one who gave me the first spark to write. This is a recording of me reading "Sitting with my Father" at his memorial service. My mom later told me about how he liked to tell people about his writer son who ran a conference once. I'm just happy to know that he was proud of me. I hope he was proud when I read this.

I love me some HorrorAddicts.net! I like to think they're a smidge fond of me as well. They podcasted my recording of "Randall's Visit". This was the first recording of this nature I've ever done. It's not perfect, but I think it's a decent first effort. I'm considering making more like this of some of my other stories. Keep an ear out for them.

"Mary Full of Grace" (below) started out as the script "A Moment in an Elevator." This was my second collaboration with Rockout 13 Productions. Details were changed as we brainstormed the story. This was our entry for a contest where we had 7 days to come up with film premise, write, shoot, and edit it. The version that was filmed was not exactly what I had written. But that's the way it goes in film making. You hear all the time about famous film actors, actresses, and directors. Do you ever hear about famous script writers? I mean someone who is famous just as a script writer, not like Spike Lee or Sylvester Stallone who wrote, directed, and starred in their own films. I don't know any. Script writers are low men on the totem pole. Gerard respected my input and took a lot of my suggestions, but his vision was a little different than mine. I'm cool with that and I hope to work with him again in the future. I'm just happy to be on the totem pole, even if I am on the bottom. :)

This is a trailer for the first film I ever worked on. "Defective" is actually the brainchild of Gerard Mendez and Rockout 13 Productions. They contacted me when they needed some help with the story development. I didn't write this script, but I did help them put together the story line, work out the details of some scenes, and develop characters. And I did write the script for this trailer.

A couple years ago, I posted "Circe's Music Shop" to Critique Circle - a site where writers can post work and get feedback from other writers. I received a lot of good feedback, but one letter was particularly encouraging. The writer mentioned how she would publish the story herself if I was ok with that. In this case, being "published" meant my story was recorded to a podcast and posted on-line. So, from this one posting, I got writing advice and a publishing credit, headlined the advertisement, and made one of my first and best friends as a fledgling writer. Thanks, Emerian! Enjoy the podcast, everyone!
